"Thistle" - vertical art print
The fierce symbol of Scotland.
The story goes that a Viking army crept toward a sleeping Scottish camp in the dark, barefoot and silent, intending to take them by surprise. One soldier stepped on a thistle. He cried out. The Scots woke. The invasion failed. And the thistle, that sharp and uncompromising plant that grows where it wants and answers to nobody, became the national flower of Scotland.
The thistle is as rugged and rooted as its people. It grows in poor soil, in rocky ground, in places other plants have given up on. It spreads without permission. It flowers in a color so vivid it looks almost defiant, that particular shade of purple that sits right at the edge of impossible.
There is a word in Scots Gaelic, 'misneach', for the kind of fierce fortitude and endurance that comes not from hardness but from deep roots.
In this painting the thistle bloom fills the frame, luminous purple against a stormy grey-green background, the spines catching the light, the whole thing radiating a kind of contained wildness.
This print belongs anywhere you need a reminder that sharp things can also be beautiful.

Packaged in a sturdy mailer or shipping tube. If your print comes in a shipping tube, simply lay them out on a clean, dry surface for a couple of hours.
(Pro tip: lay facedown on a clean surface or the tissue paper it comes wrapped in, and lay a book on top to flatten quicker!)

The materials used are high quality and archival. Your beautiful art print will last a lifetime with proper care. Each print is cut to size with or without additional borders, depending on your choice.
➤ ABOUT FINE ART PAPER PRINTS:
The art prints are printed on heavyweight fine art cold-pressed paper. They have a slight texture similar to watercolor paper and are printed with highly pigmented ink. This luxurious matte paper allows for rich and vibrant colors.
➤ CARE:
Paper prints are delicate, and it's highly recommended that your print be framed behind glass. If you can splurge on a frame with UV glass or acrylic, it's even better.
It isn't recommended to have your print out in the open, as they will get dirty from dust and everyday particles, which over time will affect the colors of the prints. Not to mention they can easily get damaged, particularly the corners.
